Basic syntax

Heading

A line that starts with # is a heading. More # means a smaller heading.

# H1 - Largest
## H2 - Medium
### H3 - Small

Text formatting

**bold**
*italic*
~~strikethrough~~
`code`

Lists

Use - for bullets and numbers for ordered lists. Indent to nest items.

1. Numbered item
2. Second item
   1. Nested item

- Bullet point
- Another bullet
  - Nested bullet

Images use the same syntax as links, with ! in front.

Tables

The second line |---| is required. :--- aligns left, :---: centers, and ---: aligns right.

Markdown in Obsidian

Obsidian uses [[ ]] instead of [ ](). It links to another note in the vault.

Frontmatter for metadata

The --- block at the top of a file stores metadata. Use it for filtering, search, and queries.
